Educational Programme

The School of Nursing offers the Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery programme with an annual intake of 20 students. It is recognized by the Assam Nurses' Midwives' and Health Visitors' Council and the Indian Nursing Council. The School has adequate facilities and well-qualified teaching faculty to mentor the students from time to time.

Educational Programme

Eligibility

  • Minimum educational qualification: 10+2 passed with aggregate 45% marks from any recognized board. And 40% of marks for English Separately.
  • Age: Age should not be less than 17 years and not more than 25 years as on 31st December of that year
  • Only unmarried candidate can apply
  • Registered ANM with pass marks
  • For registered ANM there is no age bar (Unmarried Only)
  • Student shall be medically fit
  • GNMEE to be cleared

Description of the Programme

  • Inculcate both theoretical and practical training which will help the students to apply their knowledge practically both in the hospital and in the community
  • Care is taken to instill right attitude towards the profession and so training is imparted in a Christian atmosphere in accordance with the motto of school
  • The syllabus is in accordance with that prescribed by Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi.
  • The medium of instruction is English.
  • The first, second and third year GNM final examinations are held by Assam Nursing Council annually in theory, viva and practical
  • Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives (RNRM) certificate is awarded by the Assam Nurses' Midwives' & Health Visitors' Council, Guwahati, Assam
