About us

The School of Nursing (herein after referred to as School) is a part of St. Luke's Hospital, Tinsukia being an Institution of the Diocese of North East India of the Church of North India, being run by the North East India Diocesan Trust Association. The Origin of the School goes back to the very beginning of St. Luke's Hospital at Chabua in 1923, with formal nursing courses being introduced in the 1930s. The first batch student appeared preliminary senior examination in 1955. It is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and Assam Nurses' Midwives' & Health Visitors' Council in the year 1990. Under the guidance of a qualified faculty, the students are trained to help people attain, retain and regain health by their professional knowledge and skill and personal commitment to serve humanity.
